Context
The Perfect Clean is a technology-forward residential cleaning company serving customers in Phoenix, Arizona and Dallas, Texas, with a team of about 80 employees.
Its growth strategy goes beyond traditional advertising. Alongside Meta Ads and Google Local Services Ads, the company has made referrals a core part of how it wins new customers. Since adding Clicki Referrals in January 2026, it has built a referral process that works alongside the customer experience it already had.
The challenge
Referrals were happening, but the process wasn't built to scale
The Perfect Clean already understood the value of word-of-mouth and influencer marketing. The problem was the infrastructure behind it.
Referrals were mostly tracked with opt-in forms and custom URL parameters connected to FieldRoutes. Influencer deals were largely contractual: free cleaning in exchange for a set number of posts. There was no automated way to enroll customers, hand out personalized links or consistently reward people for the business they brought in.
- Referral enrollment wasn't automated
- Customers weren't consistently reminded to refer
- Influencers had little incentive to promote beyond required posts
- Reward payouts weren't built into the process
- Referral management took more manual work
- Nothing reactivated customers after each service
Zaak estimates that before Clicki, the company was getting roughly half the referral volume it gets today.
The solution
Make referrals part of the customer journey
Rather than running referrals as a one-time campaign, The Perfect Clean built them into its customer communication. Every new customer is automatically enrolled in the Clicki referral program and introduced to the chance to earn up to $100 for successful referrals.
The conversation doesn't stop at signup. Existing workflows keep putting each customer's personalized Clicki link in front of them at the moments they're most likely to share.
Service reminders
Every cleaning becomes a referral opportunity
On the morning of a scheduled cleaning, customers get a personalized message that their cleaners are on the way. That message can also remind them about their referral reward and give them an easy way to share their link or post about The Perfect Clean on social media.
Instead of repeating the same text every visit, the team rotates roughly 6–10 referral messages and creative variations. One visit might suggest snapping a photo of the crew or company vehicle; another might include ready-to-post creative. The ask stays visible without getting repetitive.
Turning customers into promoters
The referral loop, built into the lifecycle
Because Clicki is connected to the existing tech stack, referrals keep getting promoted without employees manually reminding every customer.
- 1Customer signs up
- 2Automatically enrolled in the referral program
- 3Receives a personalized referral link
- 4Referral reminder before each service
- 5Fresh messaging and social creative
- 6Customer shares with friends and family
- 7Referral is tracked
- 8Reward is paid
Influencer marketing
From required posts to incentivized promotion
Previously, an influencer might get free house cleaning in exchange for four or five required Instagram Stories, with little reason to promote beyond that.
With Clicki, each influencer gets a personalized referral link, and compensation can be tied to measurable performance: unique clicks, referrals, customer sign-ups and activity within specific service areas.

A smarter influencer model
The approach has become especially valuable as The Perfect Clean expands into Dallas. The company works with large creators, including some with audiences in the millions.
Zaak noted that simply buying certain placements from a large creator could cost thousands of dollars. Instead of relying only on upfront sponsorship fees, The Perfect Clean can provide cleaning services and let influencers earn based on the results they generate.

Why Clicki
The Perfect Clean first heard about Clicki Referrals through Travis Bottoms of Nice Pest Company. Because the company takes a highly technical approach to marketing and customer communication, Zaak wanted to know how Clicki would work with its existing systems.
Conversations with the Clicki team let him dig into integrations, webhooks and workflows, and how The Perfect Clean could build its own strategy on the platform.

~2 days
From setup to launch in a weekend
Despite the sophistication of the strategy, Zaak completed the initial self-service setup in about two days over a weekend. The referral program now sits alongside the company's CRM, SMS, customer communication and marketing workflows, instead of being a separate process to run.
The results
A six-figure referral channel
In roughly eight months since launching Clicki in January 2026, The Perfect Clean reported:
- 3,111 referrals. Zaak estimates that's about twice the referral volume the company was getting before Clicki.
- 3,063 promoters. Thousands of customers and partners able to actively promote The Perfect Clean.
- $118,859 in revenue from its Clicki-powered referral strategy.
- $304 average new customer value, with revenue potential beyond the initial referral.
- More influencer engagement, with performance-based incentives giving creators a reason to promote beyond required deliverables.
- Less manual referral management: links, integrations, payouts and recurring messages run as part of the existing customer journey.
Why it works
The success isn't just from asking more customers for referrals. It comes from building a system around them.
Customers aren't asked once and forgotten. They're introduced to the opportunity at signup, reminded before service, given fresh messaging and creative, and rewarded when their referrals bring in business. The same approach extends to influencers and partners, rewarding the actions that actually drive growth.
