Here's how a lawn care company in Grand Rapids turned into the simplest referral platform for 500+ businesses nationwide. ![Kendall growing Lawn Doctor of Grand Rapids](/assets/pic_1-BaXRmSz2.png) 2014–2018 ### Growing Lawn Doctor Kendall grows the family business Lawn Doctor of Grand Rapids to 2,000 customers, learning first-hand how powerful word-of-mouth referrals can be for service businesses. ![Lawnbot online quoting tool](/assets/pic_2-Cizx4WPX.png) 2019 ### Building Lawnbot Kendall decides homeowners should be able to purchase lawn care online and builds an online quoting tool later called Lawnbot — allowing homeowners to sign up and pay for lawn care entirely online. ![Kendall and Erik at Lawnbot](/assets/pic_3-BKhgo995.png) 2019–2020 ### Meeting Erik & the Acquisition Kendall meets Erik Alburg, who joins Lawnbot as CTO.
